MYANMAR’s first open-top bus tours officially launched in Yangon today, allowing the tourists to have a better view of the city’s most interesting sights on the upper deck.

According to Mingalar Bus, the tour is beginning in Yangon as twice daily routes namely Yangon Day Tour and Yangon Evening Tour led by experienced bilingual tour guides. It will charge US$ 15 per tourist and Ks10,000 per local visitor.

Yangon day tour begins at Sule Pagoda, across from City Hall. It then zips up Strand Road to Kyee Min Daing, where it drops off passengers to observe traditional bronze casting and visit a local market. Continuing to San Chaung, the bus stops to visit the Allied War Cemetery and the Daw Nyar Na Sar Yi Nunnery. After, it proceeds to Shwedagon Pagoda for a brief tour before finishing again downtown.

Yangon evening tour departs Sule for Botahtaung Pagoda. After a quick visit, up the east side of town to Kandwgyi Lake to watch the sun set. Then up to Kandawmin Park to enjoy the gardens, have a snack, and take a stroll under the trees. Back on the bus to Nawaday Street and to finish at the night market on Strand Road.

“Myanmar’s greatest population centers have strong promise for city tours, but compared to other ASEAN capitals the infrastructure still has room for improvement,” said Mr Aung Thu Lwin, Managing Director of Mingalar Bus.

“Mingalarbus effectively helps to fill that gap, offering visitors a convenient and comfortable platform for exploring tourist hotspots,” he added.

Mingalar Bus’s open top bus tours will also be launched in Myanmar’s most popular destinations – Bagan, Mandalay and Pyin Oo Lwin in April this year.

The buses will be accessible to travelers of all budgets and discount packages will be offered for multi-city tours. During all months of the year charter services will be available.

Mingalar Bus is proudly partnered with Flymya.com, utilizing their state-of-the-art, comprehensive reservation and ticketing system.
